I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Christmas season, and that you are ready to begin (well, already have, I suppose, as I'm a bit late in writing this) 2013 with enthusiasm and energy!
We had a really low key holiday, the job site shut down for a week, so Nate had the week off, which was so nice- the kids loved having him home :) We spent Christmas Day with my family, had a wonderful turkey dinner, and got spoiled with gifts, but just enjoyed the day together as family. On the 28th we loaded up the truck, and went across the border to Erie, Pennsylvania, and spent 4 days there just relaxing, swimming, playing, and a bit of shopping. And when I say a bit, its actually true- we hardly bought anything! The only thing I bought myself was a $6 iPhone case for my new iPhone. So this time if I drop my phone, the screen won't smash. Best $6 I've spent in a long time, I'd say ;) We got home just before midnight on New Years Eve, and sadly, I fell asleep at 11:50pm. I just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I knew the kids would be up at 7am sharp. Oh the life of a Mom!
The kids are doing great! Olivia is 5 now, and is counting down the days until she turns 6. She is in SK now, so basically her whole life revolves around counting and spelling and writing. She loves to carry around a notepad with her and write down everything and draws pictures all the time. She's really into playing with My Little Ponies right now too :) She's back at the stage where she refuses to wear anything I pick out for her. She needed a new pair of jeans, and I scored at Gymboree the other week and got her a pair for $6, but will she wear them? Nope. *sigh*.
Noah is as crazy as ever, he's 3 now, will be 4 in April. He is excited to start JK in the fall, and is working on his counting and learning how to write his name. We think he skipped the terrible two's and is in the terrible three's, as he can be quite the handful some days. One thing he is awesome at, is going to bed. He jumps right in there, has his little pile of CARS to play with, plays for about 10 minutes, and falls right to sleep. Lately he has this thing where if Nate isn't home in time for dinner, he refuses to eat his dinner until Nate gets home. He's also decided that he's going to be a builder when he gets older, too. We are counting down the years until he can come frame for us :)
Logan, our little baby, is no longer a baby. He turned ONE last November, and is almost as big as his older brother. We haven't weighed him lately as he won't stay still long enough on the scale, but we're guessing he's about 25lbs. He is crawling everywhere, and furniture surfing with walking. He will also walk if you hold onto his hands, but he can get where he needs to go a lot quicker by crawling, so he prefers to crawl still. He goes up and down our stairs all day long, exploring the house, and loves to stick his hands in the toilet. For the most part, he is sleeping through the night (hurray!), but has been getting some big teeth in lately, so occasionally he will wake up and scream. Ugh. Otherwise, he is such a happy boy, and is happy if you put a bucket of toys in front of him and give him some cheerios. This boy loves to eat. This morning he ate a whole bowl of oatmeal, and then wanted cheerios after.
Nate is doing well, super busy with work as usual, but it is such a blessing! He is working right here in Brantford, building residential homes for Empire Communities. Right now he's on the hunt for a new truck, sadly the Durango is on its last days.... he had a follow up colonoscopy for his Chron's last November, which came up clear! Praise God! The Remicade therapy he goes for every 6 wks seems to be working, so this was very exciting for us to find out. He still has some days that aren't good, but for the most part his Chron's is in remission.
I am doing well, just busy as a SAHM for the most part. I am still doing all of the bookwork for the business, and its almost tax time again, so I will be up to my ears in paperwork until the end of March (yay). If you're still reading this, then we might as well let you in on something: we are expecting our fourth blessing, due to arrive the middle of July, Lord Willing! We are not announcing this on facebook, so please do not make any comments on my wall. I am 13wks along, and have been fairly sick with nausea, and very very tired. Olivia is determined she is getting a little sister, and Noah just keeps saying "Mommy is getting fatter". How sweet. Logan has no clue what he's in for :)
Anyways, wishing you all a wonderful 2013, may God richly bless you and your families, and may you serve Him in all that you do!
With Love,
The Schuit's xoxo

Nice blog Julie and congrats on your wonderful news. :) Wishing the Lord's blessing on you and your family in 2013.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Julie! Your family is beautiful and your summaries of Olivia and Noah sound identical to my kids! We keep saying this, but we should get together soon and introduce them. I will talk to Justin and see what works for him. IT would be great to catch up.
ReplyDeleteHope your nausea passes soon - being sick with three little ones around can't be fun.
Praying all goes well for you in this pregnancy.
I was wondering whether the perfect timing between kidlets would continue! Congratulations, and I hope you have a healthy next 27 weeks-ish with nausea only induced by taxes. :)
